Far Cry 5's online mode will be much more inclusive than we previously imagined after the "Friends For Hire" mode was shown off today during Sony's PlayStation press conference at Paris Games Week.

Following the conclusion of the in-game tutorial, you'll be able to team up with friends via online co-op. Any loot or experience you earn while playing in a cooperative game is your own, but only the host player will be able to save their progress in their friend-filled romp through Montana. This includes quests, outposts, and other missions completed while playing as a co-op partner.

As far as what there is to do with friends, the options are seemingly endless. Go joy riding together across the countryside, tackle several missions, go four-wheeling, and tear through perfectly good crops for the fun of it.

Far Cry 5 thrusts players into the role of the new junior deputy of Hope County, Montana who's already dealing with the doomsday cult Project at Eden’s Gate soon after the beginning of the game. As fanatical members of the Project work to cut off Hope County from the rest of the world, it's up to you and a select few to start a resistance group and drive the cult back to where they came from.

Far Cry 5 is set for release on Feb. 27, 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
