Diablo fans are preparing for a huge injection of content into Heroes of the Storm, with four new heroes and a new map about to be added into Blizzard’s team brawler.
Eternal Conflict, the first official expansion for Heroes of the Storm, will be released worldwide on June 30. At last night’s E3 PC Gaming Show, the developers revealed two additional heroes who will be a part of the new content.
In addition to the Butcher assassin, announced earlier, the game will also soon add Leoric the Skeleton King and the Monk as a warrior and support respectively.
Diablo had been the only major Blizzard franchise without a support hero to this point, and fans had long called for one, usually suggesting Monk.
The Monk will be a flexible support with the option to pick talents for a healer build. This is welcome news to some in the community who have recently criticized the game for a lack of healer supports. A game in the recent DreamHack Summer tournament saw one team pick two healers while banning two more, leaving only LiLi for their opponents—who is considered substantially weaker than the other healers.
Alongside the three heroes, Blizzard is also adding a Diablo-themed map to the game.
