A new game in the Destiny series means a new meta in the Crucible, and after one weekend of Trials of the Nine, we have a better idea of what's good to use at the game's launch.

There is nothing better right now than the MIDA Multi-Tool. And in the first weekend of Trials, the MIDA accounted for 35 percent of all kills in the game mode, according to Destiny stats site TrialsReport. Not only that, but at least one of the eight players in each match was using a MIDA in 98 percent of all matches.

The MIDA is strong, no doubt, but the slow-paced play of Trials and long sightlines of the map Eternity definitely helped play into these numbers.

In Destiny 2's Crucible, the slower pace of gameplay is spurred by the new four-vs.-four format, and the maps are built around the lower player count, compared to Destiny 1, which was mainly six-vs.-six.

It's probable that the MIDA will continue to see a ton of usage in Trials and the Crucible in general, but smaller maps with shorter sightlines should make the gun somewhat less viable.

Other popular guns included auto rifles Uriel's Gift and Prosecutor, and MIDA Multi-Tool's younger brother, the MIDA Mini-Tool submachine gun.
