Archon, the team formed last November by Jason “Amaz” Chan, is continuing to grow fast, adding a top level competitor and a popular streamer to its line-up.
Sebastian “Xixo” Bentert and “DeerNadia” have become the team’s latest additios. The signings were confirmed by Chan today, with the moves first hinted at when Bentert and “DeerNadia” changed their Twitter handles overnight to include Archon. The move follows the news last week that Archon was opening Hearthstone’s first team house.
Bentert told the Daily Dot that while nothing was confirmed yet, he would likely move to the team house in the coming months.
Bentert made headlines in December when he became the first player to simultaneously hold the no. 1 legend rank on the Americas, Europe and Asia servers. A formidable ladder player, Bentert claimed victory in tournaments like the DKMR Cup and the EIZO Invitational last year, and was runner-up in Archon’s inaugural Pinnacle tournament in December. In joining Archon, Bentert leaves his original team of ROOT Gaming that he joined in April.
“DeerNadia” is known more for her streaming and cosplaying than her competitive play, boasting over 90,000 followers on Twitch. With Chan, one of the top Hearthstone streamers on Twitch, at the helm Archon have put a significant amount of attention on streaming. Since joining the team, all members have been streaming more frequently.
The two new signings take the number of players on Archon’s roster to six, as Bentert and “DeerNadia” join Chan, James “Firebat” Kostesich, Raphael “Hosty” Tsantili and Brent “Backspace” Kaskel. Archon’s roster isn’t complete, however, and more signings will likely be announced in the near future.
