Cuphead isn't going away, Studio MDHR reveals
Cuphead launched in late September and quickly became an indie sensation, thanks in part to the game's difficult boss battles. And even though it's only been a month since Cuphead came out, it looks like Studio MDHR is eager to go back to the game in the future.
In an interview with IGN for an upcoming episode of IGN Unfiltered, founders Chad and Jared Moldenhauer announced their studio will return to Cuphead at some point.
"Guaranteed you'll see Cuphead at some point," Jared Moldenhauer said. "But as far as what are our plans, what are we distinctly doing next, there's been zero time to really breathe or think."
Chad Moldenhauer said the two "would have had two 30-minute chats about the future." So while another Cuphead isn't immediately on Studio MDHR's roster, it's likely that another game will come out down the road. What that will look like, or how it will play compared to the original Cuphead, remains to be seen.
Cuphead came out on Sept. 29 to critical acclaim, launching for both PC and Xbox One. The run-and-gun shooter has since earned over one million sales, making it one of this year's most successful indie hits.
