CD Projekt Red might return to The Witcher's world. In an interview from earlier this week, CD Projekt's CEO revealed that the company won't necessarily abandon the popular RPG series' IP just because its original trilogy is over.

CD Projekt CEO Adam Kici?ski spoke with Polish site Strefa Inwestorow about CD Projekt's future, touching on Cyberpunk 2077 and CD Projekt Red's The Witcher games. And while the interview is only available in Polish for now, a few interesting details have already made their way to the North American and European gaming press.

For one, Kici?ski said fans and investors just wouldn't forgive CD Projekt if the company totally abandoned The Witcher. So CD Projekt will "probably" return to The Witcher in the future. But CD Projekt sees the first three games as major milestones for the company, and the company wants to keep those games together without a fourth launch added into the mix. So the storyline that began in The Witcher and ended in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is essentially done, and any future The Witcher games will most likely deal with different characters or a different setting.

Kici?ski also spoke about Cyberpunk 2077's future, according to a summary posted on gaming industry forum ResetEra. For one, Cyberpunk 2077 will be bigger than The Witcher 3, and the studio wants the game to be even more successful than its last major game, too. There's going to be some sort of online connection available within the Cyberpunk 2077, but it's unclear what that will look like. Either way, the game's team is very excited with how the title is coming along. CD Projekt Red is practically dying to show the world what it is working on.

We won't know for yet what Cyberpunk 2077 is like, though. In fact, we hardly have a release date for the game. Hopefully in the coming year, the gaming world will know more about what CD Projekt Red has in store.
