Giants Gaming is having one of their roughest League Championship Series (LCS) splits yet, with four losses to start off the season. Now the team is looking to a young jungle talent to find their feet.

The team is in the process of acquiring former Denial Esports starter and H2K Gaming substitute jungler Joachim “betongJocke” Rasmussen, to replace current Giants starter Tri “k0u” Tin Lam, sources close to the team and players tell the Daily Dot. Rasmussen has been practicing with Giants in scrims recently, and will mutually part ways with H2K to sign with the team.

During the offseason the Giants released their top laner Jorge “Werlyb” Casanovas and jungler Federico “Fr3deric” Lizondo in an effort to find new players. While they quickly settled on new top laner Peter “Atom” Thomsen, they narrowed their jungle tryouts down to Tin Lam and Rasmussen based on scrimmage results. They ultimately went with Tin Lam.

Whether Rasmussen will help the team’s poor performance is uncertain, as he has only played one professional game with H2K against the Giants last year in the European LCS quarterfinals, where he had a 1/5/14 KDA on Elise.

During his time as a starter for Challenger Series team Denial, Rasmussen was one of the best junglers in the amateur scene. He left the team after having disputes with management. H2K bought out his contract with Denial, making him an in-house substitute, where he trained to play in the LCS.

It’s uncertain what Tin Lam will do now, but given his poor performance—he currently holds the lowest KDA ratio in the entire league for a jungler at 1.4—he could sit out the remainder of the split.
