Los Angeles-based streaming platform Azubu is ready to unveil its new website as early in the coming days after a long period of development. The company also officially confirmed in a press release that it will soon transfer to an open platform sometime in June, as the Daily Dot originally reported in April. This means anyone will be able to stream on Azubu, rather than the sponsored streamers currently in the Azubu fold.

The new website has had a significant overhaul, featuring a completely new user interface and better tools for broadcasters. “Our new Module design offers an innovative, quick, and visually attractive way for broadcasters to customize their page,” Azubu says in the press release. “We’re launching with a selection of these Modules and will continue to add more throughout the year.”

To assist what it hopes will be an influx of new streamers, it’s also improved its customer support. “We’ll be providing better support for broadcasters,” the press release adds “including 24/7 customer support through chat and knowledge-base articles to help people get their stream up quicker.”

The move will add another layer of intrigue to what will doubtlessly be a fiercely competitive year in the live streaming industry. With Twitch consolidating its position with a number of high-profile talent-hires and YouTube set to reveal some of its plans for the year ahead at the upcoming E3 expo, Azubu’s change of direction certainly has the potential to keep it within touching distance of its competitors.
