Arena of Valor, the popular mobile MOBA game made by Tencent, is coming to Nintendo Switch, according to today's Nintendo Direct livestream.

This is the first time that a MOBA has been put on a Nintendo system, and it was a surprise announcement during Nintendo's livestream earlier today.

Arena of Valor is a mobile MOBA game that includes 35 different heroes. It has many similarities to League of Legends and had a big showing at gamescom in August with former professional League players like Bora "YellOwStaR" Kim.

Some of the game modes mentioned in Nintendo's livestream included five-on-five, three-on-three, and one-on-one gameplay.

While it isn't a particularly huge MOBA title like League or Dota 2, fans are excited to see that Tencent is supporting Nintendo. Arena of Valor is very popular in the Asian market and could help the Switch sell more units worldwide.

A beta for Arena of Valor will launch this winter, giving players a chance to test the game before its official release.
