A pro skater might have just leaked a new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater remaster

While it's not official confirmation, it's about as close as you can get without Tony Hawk himself saying it.

While Activision-Blizzard’s been silent about a new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater remaster, it seems that an actual professional skater has revealed it’s the works. Tyshawn Jones, the skater in question, said that he will feature in the remastered version as he was also in the first remaster batch.

As reported by Insider Gaming, Jones spoke on the New York 105.1 FM radio network on Feb. 18, and revealed some interesting details regarding this mysterious Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater remaster, which would likely be 3+4, released in a similar vein to 2020’s 1+2 remaster. “Tony Hawk’s that’s coming out,” he said, adding that “they’ve got a new one they [are] remastering.” According to Jones, this new remaster is also coming out soon. Jones also featured in the first 1+2 remaster as part of the devs’ effort to pay homage to the current skateboarding scene, seeing as the first game in the franchise came out 26 years ago, so him being involved in any new THPS projects make sense.

A Feb. 18 post on ResetEra also claimed that a 3+4 remaster was in the works, explaining that their friend pitched Activision-Blizzard to make an advertisement for the title, but did not win it. Posts like these should be taken with a grain of salt, but given that we have the word of one of the top skateboarders alive, it seems this project is all but confirmed.

This move, while somewhat expected, does come as a surprise. Tony Hawk himself commented in 2022 how the merger of the games’ original developer, Vicarious Visions, into Blizzard, stopped the 3+4 remaster from going forward. The legendary skateboarder spoke again in September 2024, saying that he was communicating with Activision to make “a game that the fans will truly appreciate.” While we don’t have details on what that could be, it might be coming in the form of a remastered and expanded pairing of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4.

Activision-Blizzard is yet to make an official announcement or confirm any of the details above, and we shall provide further information once it becomes available.
