After setting the Heroes of the Storm alight with a 14 match winning streak and their meme-tastic name, the Bob Ross Fan Club finally suffered their first defeat during the Heroes Rising qualifier.

With Cloud9, Tempo Storm, CompLexity, COGnitive, Murloc Geniuses and Panda Global invited directly to the event, the rest of North America's teams were left to battle it out for four spots in an online qualifier.

BRFC were among the favorites to take the top spots, but suffered an early loss to Team Blank—the team led by former COGnitive flex player Austin "Shot" Lonsert and Keaton "Biceps" Consentine formerly of Cloud9 Maelstrom.

Bob Ross Fan Club climbed back up through the lower bracket with wins over eLevate and 2ARC Gaming to claim a spot in the final four. Blank also qualified for the $10,000 LAN event alongside Team Blaze and oVo.

As the qualifier was taking place, the security of the LAN event itself was uncertain. Organisers Esports Arena only reached their $5000 crowdfunding goal towards the end of the broadcast.

With the event now funded and participants decided, the stage is set for one of North America's first independent Heroes of the Storm LANs.
