1xBet advocates balanced regulation to improve player protection

1xBet urges balanced regulation to enhance player protection and foster a safer, more sustainable betting industry.

In a fresh push for improved industry standards, 1xBet has emphasized the need for balanced regulation to strengthen player protection while ensuring a fair and sustainable market. This comes ahead of the SBC-hosted Player Protection webinar on Nov. 12, where the online betting company is set to participate in a dedicated session.

According to SBC’s Player Protection Index–Western Europe report, commissioned by and presented in partnership with 1XBET, 60 percent of operators view player protection measures in their main markets as strong, yet a significant 43 percent express dissatisfaction and 26 percent admit uncertainty over how clearly regulators define their responsibilities. These statistics alone underscore the importance of establishing distinct, well-defined regulations aimed at reducing irresponsible gambling and shielding players from unlicensed platforms.

As a step toward progress, 1xBet will participate in SBC’s webinar to discuss the findings of the Player Protection Index report and explore sustainable solutions to strengthen player safety. The company’s strategic adviser, Simon Westbury, will join the panel titled “Strengthening the Crucial Relationship Between Operators and Regulators,” hosted by Player Protection Hub’s Steve Hoare. He will be joined by Peter Marcus, Director of The Marcon, and Anton Kaszubowski, Director of Greenlaw Limited, completing a well-rounded panel of industry experts focused on fostering collaboration and driving responsible regulatory practices across global markets.

“This isn’t about pointing out issues—it’s about working together on solutions and building bridges,” Westbury told SBC News. “Operators and regulators ultimately want the same outcome: a safe, sustainable and trusted marketplace. The challenge lies in turning shared intent into shared standards.”

Westbury also underscored 1xBet’s commitment to developing effective systems grounded in “open dialogue, data transparency, and empathy”—principles designed to guide players toward safe betting practices without driving them into “unlicensed spaces.”

“At 1xBet, we believe protection should be built-in, not bolted-on,” Westbury said. “That means earlier engagement, consistent frameworks, and practical guidance that operators can apply proportionately across jurisdictions.”

As part of its wider commitment to responsible gaming, 1xBet continues to enhance its player protection tools across all verticals—from traditional casino offerings to emerging esports markets. The company’s initiatives align closely with the standards followed by some of the world’s best casinos and licensed betting sites, ensuring fair play and transparent operations. With esports betting on the rise, 1xBet also supports safer engagement within the community, echoing the practices of the top esports betting platforms that prioritize user safety and integrity.

The Player Protection Index report has reignited an essential conversation across the gaming sector: Protecting players effectively without stifling innovation or growth. By championing open dialogue and cooperation between operators and regulators, 1xBet and its partners are helping pave the way toward a more responsible and trusted betting environment.
