A new Limited Time Mode is coming to Fortnite: Battle Royale, and it will test players’ resourcefulness by limiting their ammo and materials.

Tactics Showdown, a LTM originally found in the game files nearly a month ago, will likely be added to the game soon after Fortnite INTEL discovered a new playlist image.

The game mode won’t allow players to stock up with a ton of ammo and materials. Instead, it will encourage “tactical combat and building by putting a cap on the amount of resources and ammunition players can carry.”

In the traditional modes, players can hold up to 999 units of wood, stone, and metal, so the limit for Tactics Showdown is almost definitely much lower. If the original datamining information proves to be true, the materials and ammo cap won’t be the only thing to set this game mode apart from others.

Player-built structures will start off with less health, meaning other players will be able to destroy them much easier. And eliminated players will also drop even fewer resources than normal in an attempt to further limit players’ ability to heavily farm.

It’s unknown when Tactics Showdown will appear in Fortnite, but some believe that it’s coming in the next content update, which would be the first one after the launch of season five. The new season began earlier in the week, and added many new cosmetics and some points of interest on the map.

Many players have been particularly outspoken about the nerf materials have received over the past few months, so it remains to be seen how they’ll react to a LTM that actively limits how much a player can carry.
