Luminosity reveals its Fortnite esports roster

The organization "began scouting talent in January."

Another popular esports organization is officially entering the competitive Fortnite: Battle Royale scene.

Luminosity revealed its four-man Fortnite roster earlier today—Chris “crowdotwave” Merryweather, Abdiel “Aragon” Ortega, Brian “beesox” Song, and Nate “kreo” Kou have joined the organization.

“This has been in the works for some time as we began scouting talent in January of this year,” Luminosity said. “We set out to build a team based on merit, ignoring factors like popularity. We believe we have put together a roster that not only can compete with the best today but has the tools and potential to continue to grow as Fortnite esports develops.”

The Fortnite esports scene began to take shape after Epic Games announced the unprecedented $100 million prize pool planned for the 2018-2019 season.

Since then, several other esports organizations have signed competitive Fortnite rosters, including OpTic Gaming, Team Liquid, TSM, FaZe Clan, 100 Thieves, and Team Envy.

Although the scene is in its infancy, competitive Fortnite seems to have a bright future—and now, Luminosity will officially be a part of whatever the future holds for the esport.
