How to find and use Roly Poly in Fortnite

Fortnite‘s new season is filled with hostile bugs, but one exception is the helpful Roly-Poly. This quirky creature is more than just cute—it’s a powerful mobility tool that allows you to traverse the map and outmaneuver your opponents.

How to find Roly Poly in Fortnite

You can find Roly Poly bugs near the infested bases, which are marked by the bug logo on the Fortnite map. They are located at the entry points for these points of interest, and they’re fixed spawns every match, so you don’t need to look for them. Each place has about two to four Roly Poly, so they’re easy to find. If you don’t find a Hammerhead Choppa in your matches, you can always use this as your backup mobility plan. Sometimes, players also leave them at other points of interest, and you can pick them up from there, giving you a reliable mobility option near you.

Once you find them, you can hop inside them using your action key and drive around at incredible speeds to escape storms and enemies. 

How to use Roly Poly in Fortnite

You can drive the Roly Poly in Fortnite like a regular car, but it really shines when you charge it by holding your left click and revving it to make it bounce. It provides an amazing option for gaining verticality, allowing you to traverse difficult terrain easily, unlike a regular vehicle, which slows down when not driving on roads. 

The only downside to the Roly Poly is that it can’t be refuelled at gas stations, so you’ll have to change the vehicle once its charge goes down. Every Roly Poly has 800 HP, but if they sustain damage from the enemy, they’ll push you out while they become red on the ground. While uncurling does make you vulnerable, it also creates a perfect opportunity to ambush a surprised enemy with a shotgun blast.

Keep a close eye on your Roly-Poly. After taking significant damage, it will turn red and appear saddened, refusing to move. To get it rolling again, simply approach it and press your interact key to soothe the creature. Once comforted, it will happily let you ride again, ready for your next chaotic bounce around across the island.
