Fortnite fans may have discovered a mysterious castle within the rift in Wailing Woods

What could this mean?

Following the epic conclusion of the cube event in Fortnite: Battle Royale, fans have been looking forward to whatever’s next for the popular game. And it seems like some players may have discovered a hidden Easter egg that hints at a potential new area coming to Fortnite

When looking into the rift at the bottom of the bunker in Wailing Woods, a Reddit user apparently saw a mysterious castle in the portal itself. The screengrab makes the castle look like it’s in a wintery setting, and it doesn’t seem like any area that’s already a part of Fortnite

It’s unclear if there’s actually an image in this rift, though. Other Reddit users have posted screengrabs that don’t look like the one where you can clearly see a castle. Thus, this could be a glitch of some kind—or Epic Games could be trying to mess with Fortnite fans, who really knows at this point.

If there really is some kind of secret castle in this specific rift, it could mean a few different things. The castle might be a potential new point of interest in Fortnite season seven. The wintery background of the castle also makes it seem like the area could be introduced next season—assuming Epic plans to add snow or some festive designs for the holiday season.

In addition, since the castle can only be seen from this specific rift in Wailing Woods, it could mean that this area might be the target of a revamp in the future. This is all obviously speculation at this time, but when it comes to Epic making changes in Fortnite, it seems like anything is possible.

Make sure to keep your eyes on this portal in Fortnite to see if anything else shows up over the next few weeks.
