Team MVP

It’s a bittersweet day for fans of Korean Dota. The MVP Dota 2 division will be seeing a near complete restructuring beginning with the disbanding of the MVP Phoenix divison. After seeing invites to numerous Valve events, a premier event victory and numerous solid placements in stacked tournaments, the MVP.Phoenix banner will not see a team register for the Kiev Major. While today’s news is sad, MVP’s venture in Dota 2 is not over. In today’s announcement, the organziation has confirmed that it will keep its second Korean Dota stack, MVP.Hot6ix, who will be merging MVP.Aegis. Team MVP has also annoucned that the organzition will also sign a new squad, from Krygyzstan, under a new banner: MVP.Revolution. In today’s press release, coach Lim Hyeon Seok (임현석) gave his thoughts on the future of his teams, and the future of top tier professional Dota coming out of the country.

I am not giving up on Dota 2, and will raise efforts to raise the level by recruiting potential players from overseas teams. Existing players will come back from Korea to start the foundation work to create an environment to revive MVP phoenix.
Lim Hyeon Seok, Head of Dota2 MVp

The MVP organization has seen over the past three years an incredible rate of development in Dota, producing iteration upon iteration of successful squads. The organization has transformed the relatively small KR.Dota scene into a field of potential up and coming talent. Once players wish to leave the organization, it’s common to see them eagerly picked up by western squads impressed by the talent and decision making shown by MVP squads.

I want to ask for your support in order to revive the korean [professional] DOTA 2 scene in the future
LIM HYEON SEOK’s final words in today’s Press release

MVP.Hot6ix is:

1. Choei “DCT” Yeongmin
2. Son “Doctor” Kyung-il
3. Jo “Light” Han-ul
4. Baek Ji “HooNji” Hoon
5. (Seeking a position 5)

MVP.Revolution is:

1. Bektur “Runec” Kulov
2. Duulat “StormC4t-” Subankulov
3. İlgiz “NapaleoshQa” Djunuşaliev
4. Džoni “NapaleoshQa” Ri
5. Bakyt “Zayac” Emilzhanov

Note: Statements Lim Hyeon Seok have been slightly altered to flow better in English. Here are direct translations:
“the name of the Phoenix can reinstate the MVP-based and creating the environment. from the ground up”

“I would like to ask for a lot of support in order to revive Korea DotA 2 in the future.”

Special thanks to Adam Newell for his help with translations.
