Judgment god rolls and how to get them in Destiny 2 Rite of the Nine

The Nine are here to judge.

Judgment is a weapon that you’ll either love or hate—there’s no in-between. It’s a solid Stasis weapon if you’re running “cool” builds, and with the Rite of the Nine, it received a few new perks that make it the best of its kind in Destiny 2.

Judgment is a 140 RPM Stasis hand cannon that drops from the Prophecy dungeon. The old version had somewhat decent combinations for both PvE and PvP, but the reprisal adds Rimestealer for maximum Stasis synergy and perks like Precision Instrument to dominate Crucible.

Here are our PvE and PvP god rolls for the Judgment in Destiny 2.

What is the Judgment god roll in Destiny 2?

Judgment PvE god roll

  • Sight: Steadyhand HCS
  • Magazine: Tactical Mag
  • Perk one: Headstone
  • Perk two: Rimestealer or Paracausal Affinity
  • Masterwork: Reload Speed

Judgment PvP god roll

  • Sight: Hitmark HCS
  • Magazine: Accurized Rounds
  • Perk one: Slideshot
  • Perk two: Precision Instrument or Opening Shot
  • Masterwork: Reload Speed

The PvE roll got significantly better since the weapon’s last reprisal in Season of the Wish. There’s still Headstone in the third column to create Stasis crystals on precision kills, but now you can pair it with Rimestealer or Paracausal Affinity. Rimestealer grants stacks of Frost Armor when destroying Stasis crystals or frozen targets—perfect for any Stasis build.

At max Frost Armor stacks, you get a 22.5 percent damage reduction (36 percent with Whisper of Rime), which isn’t a whole lot when compared to other sustainability options on other subclasses. Plus, you may already have other Frost Armor sources from Aspects and Fragments, making Rimestealer less useful.

In that case, you can double down on damage with Paracausal Affinity, which grants a damage buff when getting a kill with an alignment matching this weapon (Dark: Stasis on Strand). This includes kills with the weapon itself, so one kill gives you a 20 percent damage buff for seven seconds.

For PvP, this hand cannon has Slideshot in the third column. It’s a fantastic perk that grants 20 range and stability after sliding on top of reloading your mag. Many players use this perk on PvP hand cannons, including the iconic Rose.

Precision Instrument is a top choice for PvP on hand cannons like Exalted Truth. As you get stacks of Precision Instrument, you can kill enemy players with two precision shots and one body shot as opposed to three precision shots. However, if you miss a shot, you lose all the stacks, making it a perk only for seasoned sharpshooters.

resilience:

Precision Instrument’s ability to secure a kill with two crits and one body shot depends on stacks and the enemy’s Resilience tier.

Opening Shot is a solid option if you’re not confident in landing all your shots for Precision Instrument. It grants 25 range and 20 aim assist for the opening shot of the attack. 25 range is a lot, and how much of that you can actually use depends on your magazine and Masterwork.

How to get Judgment in Destiny 2 Rite of the Nine

The reprised version of Judgment is only available from the Rite of the Nine version of the Prophecy dungeon that you can find in the Eternity node. There are three difficulties for the event version of the dungeon: Explorer, Eternity, and Ultimatum. The latter two feature updated mechanics as well as modifiers and Banes.

The Rite of the Nine weapons come in four variants: base, shiny base, Adept, and shiny Adept. Shiny versions have a holofoil (animated ornament) and double perks. Keep in mind that Adept weapons only drop from the Ultimatum difficulty dungeons.

Here are a few things to know to get more loot during Rite of the Nine:

  • Pick up the weapon quests from The Emissary for additional shiny copies.
  • Redeem Nonary Manifolds at The Emissary for additional weapons (or save them until the end of the event, as there will be a new way to spend them).
  • On weeks starting June 10, July 1, and July 8, Prophecy will have increased weapon drops.
