How to complete Graviton through the Ages Exotic quest in Destiny 2

Another relic of Old Chicago.

The Edge of Fate expansion in Destiny 2 comes with a new Exotic hand cannon, Graviton Spike. It’s a weapon that combines Arc and Stasis elements and sheds some light on what was happening in the DEO back in the day.

To unlock the Graviton through the Ages Exotic quest, you must first complete The Edge of Fate campaign on any difficulty. After that, you can pick up the quest at the Altar of Relativity on Kepler and start chasing down the new Exotic.

Here’s how to complete Graviton through the Ages Exotic quest in Destiny 2.

Find the weapon piece in the Outer Steppes

Speak to Lodi and Emeritus to get the Rosetta III upgrade and your first objective—triangulate the location of the weapon piece in the Outer Steppes.

use the map

The search areas for all objectives are shown on the map.

As you enter the search area, find a Rosetta Sentry Minotaur hiding behind a building on the left. Defeat the Minotaur and interact with a Rosetta terminal in the corner. This gives you a precise location of the weapon’s piece.

Once you reach the target area, look for an Exile Pylon below the ledge. Charge it using Matterspark to turn on the cannon and use it to launch yourself. Keep following the path and charging Pylons on the way to unlock the final door.

Collect the piece inside the small building and bring it back to Emeritus in Caldera.

Find the weapon piece in the Gorge

The next step is the same, but now you’re looking for a weapon piece in the Gorge. Kill the Rosetta Sentry in the area, interact with the terminal in the middle of the room, and head to the piece’s location.

As you approach the target area, you’ll go through a Matterspark tunnel and reach a room with a Cyclops. In that tunnel, there’s a path to the left. To unblock it, you need the Mattermorph ability. In the room with the Cyclops, use the Matterspark to go through the path on the right and reach an isolated room with the Mattermorph. Grab the ability and head back to the tunnel to unblock it and collect the piece.

Find the weapon piece in the Exile’s Accord

As you may have already guessed, it’s all the same for the next piece. Kill the Rosetta Sentry, interact with the terminal, and head to the target area. The triangulated location in the Exile’s Accord is much wider than usual, but the markers should lead you right to the target.

Collect Vex Data Fragments

The next step is to defeat Vex and collect their Data Fragments. Any Vex will do, but if you don’t have anything else to do right now, you can complete two runs of Vex Energy Extraction next to Caldera. It’s a mini-activity that takes around five minutes to do.

Find the weapon piece in the Central Academy

Luckily, you already have a precise location of the final piece. Head to the Aionian Campus (same place as during the Vessel of the Nine quest) and open the door by destroying the yellow nodes and interacting with the terminal. In the search area, there’s a door blocked by lasers, with a Relocator target behind it.

To get the Relocator, follow the normal path to the first open room. The Relocator is in the hanging crate in the middle of the room. Pick up the Mattermorph from the left corner and use it on the crate to reach the Relocator. Bring the Relocator back to the door, shoot the target, and portal inside to get the final piece.

Complete The Sieve activity on Kepler

The last step is to complete one encounter in The Sieve activity. The Sieve is a destination activity that appears every 90 minutes and lasts 30 minutes. During the activity, different encounters award one chest each, with an occasional lightning round that awards an extra chest and The Edge of Fate Exotic armor piece.

Graviton Spike drops from the chest after you complete an encounter in The Sieve. Now, you can start hunting down its intrinsic upgrades and wait until the Catalysts become available.
