Best weapons to farm before Destiny 2 Renegades

A checklist before the next expansion.

A new Destiny 2 expansion always means new loot to chase and challenges to tackle. To take on the most dangerous jobs when the Renegades drops in less than a week from now, you need some of the best weapons that are currently available in the game.

While most of these weapons will likely still be available to grind when Renegades launches, all eyes will be on the new Lawless Frontier activity and the Star Wars-themed blasters. On top of that, the Portal is also getting some new additions, expanding the loot pool, so it might be worth chasing down some of them before the expansion drops.

Here are the best Legendary weapons for you to take into the next Destiny 2 expansion, Renegades.

5 Legendary weapons to farm before Destiny 2 Renegades

Mint Retrograde

Undoubtedly, the best weapon to have heading into Renegades is Mint Retrograde. If you don’t have it already, it’s a fantastic rocket-assisted pulse rifle available from Pinnacle Ops that deals tremendous damage, especially if you get a roll with Rewind Rounds and Bait and Switch.

It is getting a slight nerf in Renegades, but only in the form of reserves reduced from 18 to 14. It should still be one of the top choices in your Kinetic slot to deal with tankier targets.

MIDA Mini-Tool

CALUS Mini-Tool has been one of the most popular Solar SMGs in Destiny 2 with perk combinations like Heal Clip and Incandescent. If you don’t have it or want a tiered weapon of the same type, the Portal (Solo and Fireteam Ops) offers the reprised MIDA Mini-Tool. This weapon can also roll Heal Clip with Incandescent, alongside Bruning Ambition, and a couple of other perks.

Heal Clip is one of the strongest PvE perks for survivability, and you need at least one weapon with it in your vault for any high difficulty content, including the upcoming Contest mode for the Equilibrium dungeon.

Unfall

Similarly, you can look at Unfall as the tiered version of Indebted Kindness, also available from Solo and Fireteam Ops. The main difference is that Unfall can’t roll Voltshot, but there’s Jolting Feedback, Rolling Storm, and One for All to make up for it.

Rocket sidearms deal respectable damage and have a strong ammo economy for special weapons. With an ability-based build, you can get away by using a double special loadout, with Unfall or another sidearm as one of them.

Unwavering Duty

Heavy weapons have been partially on the back lines throughout The Edge of Fate, with Mint Retrograde dealing more damage than most of them. One of the exceptions is the reprised Unwavering Duty Solar machine gun from Trials of Osiris.

The weapon has all the best perks you can ask for from a machine gun. There’s Incandescent, Rampage, and Auto-loading Holster in the third column, and Killing Tally, Burning Ambition, Target Lock, and Onslaught in the fourth column. It’s a weapon you can’t go wrong with.

Opaque Hourglass

Another heavy weapon you should consider getting is the Opaque Hourglass crossbow from the Desert Perpetual raid. It can get Vorpal Weapon for increased boss damage, and because it’s a crossbow, you can retrieve bolts after firing them, allowing for basically infinite heavy ammo.

The other crossbow that has been available throughout The Edge of Fate’s events, Submersion, is also a decent weapon, but it doesn’t have Vorpal Weapon. Instead, the best perk on it is Chill Clip to apply slow to the target.
