Season 2 of the SL i-League StarSeries has ended, and Ninjas in Pyjamas are the champions for this season.

After NiP dusted off Cloud9 in their semifinal, they took on a G2 Esports side that squeaked out two victories over Team Dignitas. In the grand final, NiP dominated G2 in the first half of game one, but dropped several rounds after the halftime switch. NiP still won the first game 1-0, although they lost some momentum to G2.

The second match on Overpass became one of the closest matches of the tournament, thanks to G2's resiliency and server lag issues. In the second pistol round, the servers suffered an unknown issue, which prompted a long delay and a full reset of the second pistol round.

This gave G2 enough life to send the second game into overtime, and both teams traded rounds in the first set of overtime to send it to a second overtime. Then in double overtime, NiP pulled out four straight round wins, and came away with $150,000 and the SL i-League StarSeries Season 2 title.
