Just days after officially launching, new Oceanic esports organization Nuovo Gaming is expanding, this time picking up a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster.

Nuovo has signed the team formerly playing as Infernum Gaming. They currently sit in eighth place on the Oceanic standings. The team consists of Bobby ‘Zedzke’ Johnson, Alec ‘Noisia’ Gulabovski, Georgio ‘sK’ Poumpoulidis, Raymond ‘Dezibel’ Odisho, Xavier ‘Xav’ Kliendienst, and substitute Daniel ‘Lax’ Rushton.

"After sitting down with this team and discussing their plans for the future we came to the mutual conclusion that growing the region was our top priority,” says Alex Gonzalez, Nuovo’s CEO. “The roster is striving to compete at the highest level in and out of the game and is a perfect embodiment of what we feel Nuovo Gaming wants to bring to the scene."

Competing as Nuovo, the team looks to place well in today’s online qualifier for the ESL ANZ Championship, with season two boasting a $20,000 prizepool—that’s double the amount for season one.

Upon its launch three days ago Nuovo signed prominent Oceanic StarCraft 2 player Ethan "iaguz" Zugai and Australian Hearthstone player Tom ‘TomFLR’ Finlayson. Nuovo’s Chief Operating Officer Jordan O’Hara tells the Daily Dot that the expansion is part of Nuovo’s plan to dominate the Oceanic region, with more announcements expected soon.

"Through picking up our third professional roster since launch, we hope to show how serious Nuovo is about expanding to the highest level in Oceanic esports."
