Just weeks into his CS2 comeback, s1mple is back on the grind, and he’s doing it with style and some jaw-dropping plays.
The legendary Ukrainian has been putting hours on FACEIT, playing nine matches per day over the last three days, according to FACEIT CS2 on X. And he’s not just clocking in time, his numbers are as sharp as what he delivered at the Austin Major: 1.27 KD and 101.3 ADR, to go with a 371 elo rating gain.
In one of those matches, s1mple ran into a stacked squad featuring Team Falcons’ star trio of m0NESY, NiKo, and kyousuke on Ancient. And yes, it turned into a s1mple highlight reel.

The score was tied at 7-7 when s1mple cracked things open with a slick 3k, then stayed hot in the next rounds to push his team to a 10-7 lead. NiKo responded with a classic Deagle 4k to narrow the gap to 8-10. But s1mple had other plans.
Round 19. T-side. Cue the magic. What followed was a textbook s1mple ace, capped by an incredible 1vs3 clutch.
The 27-year-old pro opened with kills on NiKo at Ramp and another defender at B site, but quickly found himself on a 1vs3 disadvantage. It’s no problem though, as s1mple coolly cleared angles and isolated duels, starting with kyousuke on B back site. He then outgunned a second CT waiting in the Nest, making it a 1vs1 against m0NESY.
With A site clear, s1mple smoked off Tunnels, planted the bomb, and predicted m0NESY would rotate from CT. Both players had AKs, but M0NESY had full health and s1mple just 78 HP. Well, it didn’t matter, as the veteran schooled the prodigy, taking him down with a crisp headshot and eventually securing the clutch.
Obviously, his teammates were hyped after that amazing clutch play. One asked if he’s in his prime again, and s1mple shrugged it off: “I just got lucky.” Another chimed in: “You’re back bro! Let’s go sign for FaZe.” To which s1mple jokingly replied: “No money, no honey.”
What makes this performance even more impressive is that s1mple, regarded as one of the most lethal AWPers in Counter-Strike history, opted to use a rifle for most of the match, especially the AK. And he didn’t miss a beat. He led his team to a 13-8 victory, finishing with 22 kills and four assists against 15 deaths, on top of a 1.47 K/D and 101 ADR. That’s definitely a standout showing by any measure.
While a move to FaZe Clan is off the table following broky’s return, and NAVI doesn’t appear ready to bring him back into the main lineup, the widely recognized CS GOAT is making one thing clear: he’s not done yet. Despite the uncertainty around his competitive future in CS2, he’s clearly committed and grinding hard for what looks like a serious comeback.
