This player had his mouse broken before the CS2 Austin Major, but then puts up a record-breaking performance in the opener

What a showing!

If you told me a pro player broke their mouse just days before a major FPS tournament and then went on to make a statement game, I probably wouldn’t believe you.

But that’s exactly what Nico “nicoodoz” Tamjidi did in the opening match of the CS2 BLAST Austin Major 2025 Stage 1—only three days after having his mouse broken, according to his post on X (formerly Twitter).

“Mouse broke 3 days before Major G_G,” he said.

That didn’t seem to be a problem for nicoodoz, though. He came out swinging with an absurd 3.08 rating—the highest ever recorded on a single map at a Counter-Strike Major—as he led OG’s 13-3 stomping of Complexity on Ancient in their tournament debut.

The 24-year-old Danish player broke flamie’s seven-year Major record of 2.99 rating, which had stood since NAVI’s quarterfinal victory against Quantum Bellator Fire at the ELEAGUE Major Boston 2018. On top of that, he matched WorldEdit’s mark for the highest LAN rating ever recorded in Counter-Strike history.

Nicoodoz was on fire right from the start, scoring a triple kill in the pistol round on CT side. By halftime, he had already dropped 26 kills with just four deaths, including a nasty quad kill in round 10.

He wrapped up the match with a jaw-dropping stat line of 33-6 K-D, 174.9 ADR, and 100 percent KAST. And the wildest part? He did it all with a rifle (aside from the pistol rounds, of course) despite being an AWPer by trade.

Nicoodoz’s game was so incredible that he even got the official CS2 X account to react.

“No Chad, I’ve just spent the last hour trying to think of different ways to give @nicoodoz his flowers and this was where I ended up,” the CS2 X handler said in a reply to a comment by renowned caster SPUNJ.

Unfortunately, nicoodoz couldn’t keep his magic going in OG’s second match against B8, where they fell 9-13 on Inferno and dropped to a 1-1 record. They’ll now need to win two more matches to secure a spot in Stage 2.

Still, the Danish star’s debut at the Austin Major was nothing short of spectacular. Now all that’s left is for him to reveal what mouse powered that insane performance.
