On this week’s episode of the Leaderboard, the panel discuss the League Championship Series playoffs, ESL Pro Tour, and a legend stepping away from his game.

The League Championship Series playoffs have progressed to the second round after a first round that went largely to plan, save for one shocking upset. Team Liquid managed to sweep Counter Logic Gaming, ending what had been a stellar season for Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng and his compatriots. How the team lost and where they go from here are up for discussion.

Also on the table is the decision made by Matt “Nadeshot” Haag to step away from active competition in Call of Duty. Arguably the most popular player in the game’s history, Haag had captained Optic Gaming to a successful run this year that ended in brutal fashion when the squad was upset at the Call of Duty Championship. Haag made sure to note that he will likely return to competitive play one day in the future.

Rounding out the week’s topics are the ESL Pro Tour getting involved in the fighting game scene by bringing in Mortal Kombat X for the upcoming season and the latest round of changes made to Valve’s popular first-person shooter, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
