The first matchup of the day was between FNATIC and Team SoloMid. This week has shown that FNATIC is still getting back into the swing of things after the return of Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer Gustafsson. The series went to all three maps, which were Cache, Mirage and Cobblestone.

On Cache, TSM fought FNATIC, but it wasn’t enough to win the map. It was a bit of a back-and-forth match with strides from both FNATIC and TSM at the start and end of the map. However, FNATIC took the first map 16-2.

Mirage was dominated by TSM. The North American team only allowed the Swedes to pick up short bursts of rounds aside from a streak in the second half. TSM held strong, though, and picked up the second map with a score of 16-11.

FNATIC didn’t let the defeat phase them. The team controlled Cobblestone to secure 14 rounds before the half. TSM did attempt to come back and held strong for five rounds, but FNATIC closed out the series 16-6 with a series score of 2-1.

Jesper “JW” Wecksell, FNATIC’s main AWPer, posted on Twitter after the match up to express dissatisfaction with the team’s play.

The second match up consisted of FaZe Clan and Team Dignitas. Throughout this week, FaZe has shown that the team is hungry for the win this week. This series also went to all three maps – Cache, Overpass and Mirage.

Cache was once again the first map and FaZe played a strong terrorist side to bring the score to 12-3 in the first half. Dignitas played better on the t-side as well, but FaZe stayed strong to win the first map 16-10.

Map two was Overpass where FaZe continued aggression and perseverance. The first half ended similarly with a score of 11-4, but when the second half started, Dignitas was ready to fight. Dignitas evened up the score 12-12 and took the game 16-14 over FaZe.

On the third map, Mirage, both teams fought hard as it was a lot of back and forth. The teams battled it out, but it was FaZe that came out on top 16-14 to win the series 2-1.
