Beyond The Summit has finalized the eight teams that will compete for $150,000 in its first international Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament, cs_summit.
From April 19 to April 23, SK Gaming, OpTic Gaming, Cloud9, Team EnVyUs, Gambit Esports, Team Liquid, GODSENT, and Ninjas in Pyjamas will go head-to-head in Los Angeles for an action-packed weekend of Counter-Strike. The venue and talent line-up for the event has yet to be announced.
Notable teams that will not be in attendance at the April event include Astralis, Virtus.pro, FNATIC, North, FaZe Clan, Natus Vincere, mousesports, G2 Esports, and Heroic. Teams in attendance were directly invited and announced one-by-one by Beyond The Summit over the past several months.
Cs_summit will be held one week after the StarLadder i-League Season 3 Finals (April 4 to 9) and two weeks before DreamHack Austin (April 28 to 30). With this event having implications of a hectic schedule for some, including Gambit, SK, and Cloud9, teams may have to make a decision for which events they will prioritize to prevent fatigue.
