One of world’s biggest organizations in League of Legends looks to be expanding its reach beyond the popular MOBA.

The Dignitas esports organization announced today that its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team will now play under the Team SoloMid banner.

While Team SoloMid have yet to make an official statement on the matter, the abrupt announcement from Dignitas was confirmed on Twitter by one of the players involved, Nicolai “Device” Reedtz.

Both Reedtz and Dignitas signaled that the deal will kick into effect starting Feb. 1, only one week from today.

The move was announced immediately after Dignitas had secured a bronze medal at Major League Gaming’s X Games Invitational. The Danes had fallen to eventual champions LDLC in the semifinals before impressively sweeping Fnatic in the third-place match.

Dignitas were one of the few teams at X Games to avoid a dramatic upset loss, with their only defeat prior to losing a three game set to LDLC being an overtime group stage loss to Ninjas in Pyjamas.

Team SoloMid would join Counter Logic Gaming as the second major League of Legends organization to pick up a Counter-Strike team in the new year, as tournament viewership continues to increase and the number of active players goes up as well.

For their part, Dignitas promised to announce on Monday the acquisition of a new Counter-Strike team to replace the departing roster.
