Week 11 of the Call of Duty World League featured an unusual Monday filled with great North American matchups. As the league progresses through its final two weeks, the playoff and seeding race is heating up and the teams have everything on the line.
The most notable game today was first place OpTic Gaming taking on last place Hundred Thieves. Although they are on opposite sides of the table, Hundred Thieves came out swinging, winning their first uplink map of the season, and the match headed to a decisive fifth map. While up 5-3 in the map, 100T player John “Johnny” Cookson and Matthew “FormaL” Piper from OpTic were in a 1v1 situation when Formal fired the “One-Burst Heard ‘Round the World,” killing Johnny and winning the round. OpTic would go on to win the map in a round 11 and take what was one of the best matches of the league thus far.
