The Green Wall trumps FaZe once again: Feb. 26 MLG 2,000 Series Recap

OpTic, Fnatic, and Chiefs emerge victorious in this past Sunday's 2K series.

Yesterday’s (Feb. 26, 2017) MLG 2,000 North American Series saw OpTic Gaming snatch up 2,000 pro points each in their sweep against Enigma6. Most notably, they defeated FaZe 3-2 after a hot 6-0 in game five Search and Destroy in the semifinals right, before they cleaned up in the finals. In other regions, Fnatic won the EU 2,000 Series and Chiefs Esports Club won the APAC 2,000 Series. Here’s a rundown of the more significant placings, as well as the top-eight teams from each region.


North America (252 teams)

  • First Place: OpTic Gaming ($2,000; 2,000 CWL Pro Points)
  • Second Place: Enigma6 ($1,000; 1,000 CWL Pro Points)
  • Third/Fourth Place: Team EnVyUs, FaZe Clan (800 CWL Pro Points)
  • Fifth-Eighth Place: eUnited, Rise Nation, Luminosity Gaming, TheGosuCrew Blue
  • Significant Top-16 teams: G2 Esports, PNDA Gaming, Team Allegiance, Cloud9, Evil Geniuses, Team Kaliber

Europe (169 teams)

  • First Place: Fnatic ($1,600; 2,000 CWL Pro Points)
  • Second Place: Red Reserve ($900; 1,200 CWL Pro Points)
  • Third/Fourth Place: Supremacy, Team Infused (800 CWL Pro Points)
