ESWC (recently renamed to eSports World Convention) has just announced their annual Call of Duty event. ESWC will be returning to Zenith of Paris from May 6th-8th, this time in partnership with the Call of Duty World League. The event will be part of the Challenge Division, the first yet to be announced in Europe. The first North American Challenge Division event, UMG South Carolina, will take place February 12th-14th. There has not yet been word on a Challenge Division tournament in Australia.

ESWC 2016 will offer a $50,000 prize pool on top of the Challenge Points amateur players can earn by competing. Challenge Points are accumulated throughout the year at Challenge Division events. At the end of Stage 1 of the Call of Duty World League Pro Division, teams with the most Challenge Points will be invited to a relegation tournament for the chance to qualify for Stage 2 of the league. Points will also be used to determine which teams are invited for the Call of Duty Championship qualifier at the end of the year. More information can be found here.

Last year, ESWC was one of the most enjoyable events for spectators. Call of Duty fans packed Zenith of Paris, a large indoor arena, and filled the air with constant cheering. Fans watching from home should expect no less from ESWC this year.
