Echo Fox reverse sweep Red Reserve at CWL Pro League Stage 2

Epsilon still doesn't have a win.

Red Reserve, the top team in Division A of the Call of Duty World League Pro League, suffered a defeat on Tuesday that will embolden the chasing pack.

Sitting atop the division heading into Tuesday’s set of matches, Red faced off against Echo Fox in their only match of the day. The two teams had very different performances in the stage’s first half, with Red winning nearly every match while Echo Fox finished with a losing record. The match didn’t show that, though.

Red started out the series with commanding victories in both Hardpoint and Search and Destroy, but were unable to close out the series in three maps. Echo Fox took Flak Tower Capture the Flag to extend the series with a winning overtime capture. That win was exactly what Echo Fox needed to mount a comeback.

In the fourth game it was Echo Fox who took control, winning Valkyrie Hardpoint by over 80 points thanks in part to Ulysses “AquA” Silva’s incredible slaying. That win tied up the series at two games a piece, pushing the series to the final possible map—Valkyrie Search and Destroy.

Despite being touted as the superior Search and Destroy team, Red Reserve could not get anything going in game five. Valkyrie Search and Destroy went entirely the way of Echo Fox, who took the game 6-1.

Red Reserve wasn’t the only team shockingly taken down by Echo Fox on Tuesday. Evil Geniuses also felt their wrath, losing in a three-game sweep. EG was able to get one win on the board, though, defeating Epsilon in four games. Team Envy and Team Kaliber were victorious too, toppling FaZe Clan and Splyce respectively.

Here are the standings in Division B of the CWL Pro League (each team’s series record is followed by their map count in parentheses).

Standings

1) Red Reserve: 6-2 (21-12)

2) Evil Geniuses: 6-3 (22-14)

3) Team Envy: 5-3 (19-11)

4) Team Kaliber: 5-3 (17-15)

5) Echo Fox: 5-4 (19-19)

6) FaZe Clan: 3-5 (14-17)

7) Splyce: 3-5 (15-20)

8) Epsilon Esports: 0-8 (5-24)

CWL Pro League matches continue tomorrow, with a battle between the top two kicking off the day at 1pm CT. In addition to the Red Reserve vs. Evil Geniuses match, Echo Fox will look to continue their winning streak against Team Kaliber at 5:30pm CT.
