Earlier today, Charlie Intel reported that the 2016 Call of Duty Championship prize pool will be $1.6 million, a substantial increase from past years. This figure came from an Activision press release (not exactly open to the public but semi-accessible here). Since Call of Duty XP on Modern Warfare 3 and the Call of Duty Championship on Black Ops 2, Ghosts, and Advanced Warfare in the years that followed, the prize pool remained at a solid $1 million. At the time, CoD Champs was the only event that Activision was involved in.

With the Call of Duty World League, Activision is distributing $600,000 per Stage in addition to the multiple Challenge Division events (online and LAN) worldwide. Previously, Activision only stated they would be giving away over $3 million in prize money this year, but never gave an exact figure.

Besides the press release, there has been no other word on CoD Champs from Activision at the time of this article.
