The third and final day of action for Week Eight of the Call of Duty World League was full of extreme unpredictability. Although there were only two matches played tonight, both were won in upset fashion.
Here is a recap of all the North American matches that took place earlier today.
- (3-10) Team SoloMid 3-1 Rise Nation (9-5)
In arguably one of the biggest upsets of the season so far, TSM was able to defeat Rise 3-1. Rise won the first Hardpoint on Breach 250-176, but from there, it was all TSM. The struggling TSM squad was able to win Evac Search and Destroy 6-4, Infection Uplink 9-7 and Stronghold Capture the Flag 3-1 en route to their third win of Stage Two.
- (9-4) Team EnVyUs 3-1 OpTic Gaming (10-3)
In a match between two of the biggest rivals in Call of Duty history, the Boys in Blue were able to triumph over the Green Wall. Atypical of how OpTic usually plays, EnVyUs completely dominated the respawn game modes, starting with an impressive 250-88 win on Breach Hardpoint. OpTic responded with a 6-4 win on Evac Search and Destroy, but EnVyUs put the nail in the coffin with an OT win on Infection Uplink and a 4-0 win on Stronghold Capture the Flag, taking the series by a score of 3-1.
