The console switch has been speculated for a few months, but David Vonderhaar, the Studio Design Director at Treyarch Studios, made it official today at gamescom that the PlayStation 4 will be the console for competitive Call of Duty in Black Ops III.
This will mark the first time that Call of Duty eSports will be featured on the PlayStation 4. Competitive Call of Duty was on the PlayStation 3 during Call of Duty®: Black Ops, but then switched over to the Xbox 360 for Call of Duty®: Black Ops II.
