Black Ops 7 weapon tier list: Meta guns to use at launch

Best weapons to use.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is here, which means getting your hands on the right weapons early can make all the difference, and our Black Ops 7 weapon tier list has got that sorted.

At the time of writing, it’s the game’s launch period, and it features a diverse arsenal, including assault rifles and SMGs to sniper rifles and LMGs, each with unique strengths and weaknesses.

Knowing which guns dominate the meta gives you a crucial edge, especially if you’re a competitive player looking to dominate multiplayer lobbies. With that said, here’s a breakdown of the top-tier weapons you need to prioritize in Black Ops 7.

Black Ops 7 weapon tier list

TierWeapons
SM15 Mod 0, Dravec 45, Peacekeeper MK1, Akita, Shadow SK, AK-27, Ryden 45K, M10 Breacher
AMXR-17, DS20 Mirage, Razor 9mm, X9 Maverick, VS Recon, M8A1, MPC-25, RK-9, Echo 12, MK.78, Warden 308, XM325
BXR-3 Ion, A.R.C M1
CCarbon 57, M34 Novaline, AAROW 109

Here’s what my tiers signify:

  • S-Tier: These weapons define the meta as they dominate most matches and are considered the strongest.
  • A-Tier: These weapons are as effective as they are strong and reliable, but fall slightly behind the S-Tier guns.
  • B-Tier: These weapons are good but situational, as they come with limitations or are overshadowed by the previous tier guns.
  • C-Tier: These weapons are mostly underused due to their low win-rate ratio outside certain conditions.

S-Tier weapons in Black Ops 7

The M15 Mod 0 blends precise recoil control with lethal damage output, allowing it to power through opponents at medium range. Its versatility across maps and modes makes it a staple for both aggressive and defensive playstyles.

The Dravec 45 SMG is ideal if you favor fast-paced, close-to-midrange combat. It has a high fire rate and mobility, letting players control tight spaces and outgun rivals quickly.

The Peacekeeper MK1 has a balanced fire rate and solid accuracy, and excels at delivering reliable shots with manageable recoil, making it perfect for mid-range gunfights. The Shadow SK sniper provides lethal one-shot potential in skilled hands, perfectly suited for long-range map control and clutch plays.

The Akita and M10 Breacher are two top-tier shotguns for multiplayer. The Akita has crisp handling and high RPM, which allows it to excel in rapid engagements, while the M10 Breacher is lethal in close quarters.

BO7 A-Tier weapons

A-Tier picks offer competitive performance, though they require a bit more finesse or situational awareness than their S-Tier counterparts.

The MXR-17 is reliable for holding mid-map, thanks to versatile attachments and a controllable kick, while the Warden 308 dominates the marksman rifle category with its precision and stopping power.

The Razor 9mm is best when paired with fast flanking routes and excels on compact maps. X9 Maverick and VS Recon both offer flexible play with good DPS. M8A1 and MPC-25 have stable recoil and versatility, ideal for players who prefer mid-range combat more.

Both Echo 12 and MK.78 bring specialized strengths in accurate engagements or extended suppressive fire.

B-Tier weapons

As we move down the tiers, weapons start becoming more situational. These weapons cater to advanced playstyles or specific needs, depending on the map or game mode.

The XR-3 Ion and A.R.C M1 launcher are ideal for specialists who excel at controlling angles or holding less-contested objectives.

C-Tier weapons

It’s best if you ignore the C-Tier weapons, unless they are heavily buffed. In that case, I will move them to the higher tiers. These weapons are rarely seen outside experimental loadouts.

Carbon 57, M34 Novaline, and AAROW 109 suffer from low DPS, unreliable recoil, or niche utility that’s outmatched by higher tiers, as they can work for very specific roles but aren’t optimal when winning matters most.

I would say focus on the S and A-Tier weapons and maximize them to win more games and build up your stats. As new seasons come and updates roll out to shift the meta, I will continue updating my tier list to help you stay ahead in every match.

Quick note, run-and-gun players thrive with SMGs like the Dravec 45 and Ryden 45K. If you prefer medium-to-long-range fights, assault or marksman rifles such as the M15 Mod 0 and Warden 308 will serve you best.

While the meta weapons do play a huge role, make sure you have these settings sorted before jumping into multiplayer:
