As you grind through camos in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, you’ll inevitably have to kill enemies affected by your tactical equipment. It’s one of the most annoying challenges in the game because it requires lots of speed and precision.
Here’s what counts as a kill on enemies affected by your tactical equipment in Black Ops 7, and a few tips to get those kills faster.

Kills on enemies affected by your tacticals in Black Ops 7, explained

Not all tacticals in BO7 apply negative effects to your enemies. For example, Stim Shot regenerates health, and there’s no point in having it in your loadout when trying to complete this camo challenge.
Here are the tacticals that affect enemies to get kills:
- Stun Grenade
- EMP Grenade
- Pinpoint Grenade
- Flashbang
- Psych Grenade
Every tactical is decent in its own right and can be used, depending on the playstyle. Flashbangs and EMP Grenades seem to be the most consistent, with decent AoE and effect duration, which you can also increase through Overclock.
Psych Grenade is also a solid choice. The smoke cloud lingers for a long time, and if you throw it at a capture zone, you can consistently hallucinate two to three enemies. It’s only a matter of whether you can clean up the kills.
Whenever you get a kill affected by your tactical, there’s a corresponding tag on the right of your crosshair. The tag depends on which tactical you used, but it always follows the format “Finished X Enemy,” where X can be flashed, disrupted, hallucinating, etc.

Perks

There’s a perk for anything in BO7, and naturally, there are a few that can help you get kills with tactical equipment. Some are more of general use, while others directly affect your tacticals.
Here are some of the perks you can use:
- Ghost (Perk 1): Undetectable by enemy Scout Pulse and UAV when moving, planting, defusing, or controlling Scorestreaks. Undetectable by Prox Alarm.
- Gung Ho (Perk 1): Fire while sprinting. Improved movement speed while reloading or using your equipment.
- Scavenger (Perk 2): Resupply ammo and equipment from killed enemies.
Ghost is an overall great perk, especially if you’re trying to sneak up on an enemy. Alternatively, you can go for Gung Ho, which improves your movement speed when using equipment, including your tactical. Regardless of what you choose, you really want Scavenger as your second perk to resupply equipment from killed enemies, giving you many more opportunities to progress through the challenge before having to die and respawn.
Field upgrades

An honorable mention goes to the Active Camo field upgrade. It makes you nearly invisible for a short duration, and the invisibility doesn’t go away when using tactical equipment, only when firing your weapon, allowing for an easy kill.
Wildcards

A must-have Wildcard for this challenge is Tac Expert, which grants an extra tactical. Tac Expert unlocks at level 15 and is the first Wildcard in this game, so you shouldn’t have any issues in unlocking it, especially if you’re using double XP boosters.
Modes

For this challenge, you want to play game modes with dedicated objectives, even more so than when doing Point Blank kills. You need to be sure where the enemies are before throwing a tactical. The best modes for that are Domination and Hardpoint.
Before tackling this challenge, make sure you have these settings sorted before jumping into Multiplayer:
- Best audio settings
- Best movement settings
- Best aim assist settings
- Best PC graphics settings
- Best controller settings
- Best mouse and keyboard settings
