Here are all the details you need to know about the CoD BO6 90s Action Heroes event.

BO6 90s Action Heroes start and end dates

The event begins on Thursday, Aug. 21 at 12pm CT and runs until Thursday, Sept. 4, most likely at the same time. That gives players two full weeks to complete challenges and secure every reward on offer.

Longtime fans of the Black Ops series may recall the 80s Action Heroes event in Cold War, which brought a wave of themed bundles, unique maps, limited-time modes, and quests across Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone. The new 90s Action Heroes event, however, takes an entirely different approach.

Rather than adding new modes or content, this event focuses on progression. It’s structured as an XP-based challenge, where players earn rewards simply by racking up XP in matches and hitting specific milestones.

Here’s a breakdown of the XP challenges and the rewards you can unlock:

The Boxing Gloves melee weapon is the event’s mastery reward, unlocked once all other rewards are claimed. The weapon also has a black and gold version available to BlackCell battle pass owners. According to Activision, the Boxing Gloves deal moderate damage, feature a fast attack speed, and has surprisingly long range, capable of dropping enemies in multiple hits (probably two to three swings can knock out your opponents).

With the BO6 Action Heroes running for two weeks and the unique Boxing Gloves serving as the mastery reward, now’s the time to grind matches, level up, and unlock retro-inspired rewards before the event disappears.
