There’s a new one-shot build in Warzone that’s causing serious chaos, and it’s all thanks to the newly added Essex Model 07 marksman rifle.
If you’re aiming to drop enemies in an instant, this is the go-to Essex loadout in Warzone, whether you’re grinding it out on Verdansk or Rebirth Island.

This Essex build takes inspiration from Call of Duty content creator Nixstah, who recently shared a clip on X (formerly twitter) showing just how lethal this weapon can be when used right.
Now, fair warning, this is very much a high-risk, high-reward setup. The build relies on landing a clean headshot within close to mid-range (roughly under 25 meters) to instantly eliminate a fully-plated enemy. Miss that first shot, and you’re leaving yourself wide open, especially against aggressive SMG or AR players. While it’s possible to down someone in two to three shots, that only really works if you’ve got solid positioning.
The key to the Essex’s one-shot potential lies in the CHF Barrel, which dramatically boosts neck and headshot damage. Pair it with Overpressured rounds, and the marksman rifle stays lethal even at a fairly medium range.
I made a few tweaks to Nixstah’s original setup. Instead of the Ported Compensator, I went with the Muzzle Brake, which helps with first-shot recoil control and speeds up kick reset, great for quick follow-up shots if you miss the initial headshot. I also swapped the Commando Lever for the Quickdraw Lever, which gives a big boost to ADS speed that is super helpful for snapping onto targets faster.
If you’re running an eight-attachment Gunfighter setup, consider adding the Weighted Handguard (underbarrel), Extended Mag I, and the Strelok Laser to round things out. These add stability, extra ammo, and accuracy in hipfire to ADS transition for quick engagements.
Best Essex class setup

- Secondary: LC10 or Ladra
- Melee: Personal preference
- Tactical: Smoke
- Lethal: Molotov Cocktail
- Perk 1: Survivor
- Perk 2: Sprinter
- Perk 3: Resolute
- Wildcard: Overkill
I definitely recommend pairing the Essex with a solid SMG like the LC10 or Ladra. Since this particular marksman rifle build is all about precision and timing, having a reliable close-range option is essential, especially for those moments when you miss your initial shot and an enemy decides to rush you.
When it comes to perks, I still recommend Survivor for the first slot, as it speeds up health regeneration and cuts down the time it takes to get revived after being downed, which can really come in clutch during intense fights. Go with Sprinter in the second slot. It gives you unlimited tactical sprint, letting you move around the map faster and reposition with ease.
Resolute is a solid pick for the final perk because it gives you a burst of movement speed when you take damage, which can help you escape in chaotic encounters. If you’d rather play it safe, Tempered is a great alternative, letting you fully armor up with just two plates instead of three.
