*Please note that these are personal ESN predictions and are simply opinions from our staff. The following predictions are based off of Advanced Warfare’s events, MLG Columbus and UMG Orlando placings, and MLG Pro Point tournament success.

Winner’s Bracket Round 1 Predictions

Unlike the past two events, the MLG Pro League Season 1 Playoffs will not include Pool Play Groups. This event will include a Winner’s Bracket and Loser’s Bracket. Bracket seeding is determined via final league standings:

  • OpTic Gaming (1) - NaDeSHoT, Scumpii, Crimsix, FormaL
  • Denial eSports (2) - Clayster, Attach, Replays, JKap
  • Prophecy (3) - Ricky, MBoZe, Legal, Fears
  • FaZe (4) - Aches, Slasher, Parasite, Enable
  • Aware Gaming (5) - Accuracy, Huke, Happy, TJHaly
  • Team Kaliber (6) - Sharp, Goonjar, Theory, Loony
  • Team EnVyUs (7) - MerK, NameLeSs, ZooMa, Saints
  • Rise Nation (8) - Pacman, Diabolic, Chino, Sender

OpTic Gaming (1) vs. Rise Nation (8)

OpTic Gaming has not been able to start off hot at the recent major events. They have lost both of their first series at MLG Columbus and UMG Orlando, and Rise Nation will be looking to capitalize on that. However, we would be crazy to think that OpTic will fall to the number eight seed right off the start of the tournament.

FaZe (4) vs. Aware Gaming (5)

One of the more exciting matchups we’ll be seeing will include FaZe’s experienced line up vs. Aware Gaming’s young guns. Patrick “Aches” Price and Austin “Slasher” Liddicoat both placed first under FaZe at MLG Columbus, while Cuyler “Huke” Garland and Tommy “TJHaly” Haly placed second under Stunner Gaming at UMG Orlando. It should be one of the best early matchups of the tournament.

Prophecy (3) vs. Team KaLiBeR (6)

Prophecy’s newest roster has been performing quite well together with the addition of Marcus “MBoZe” Blanks. After being released from OpTic Nation, MBoZe was able to place Top 6 at UMG Orlando with a pickup team. Since then, he was traded to Prophecy and has been playing well. Team KaLiBeR placed Top 8 at UMG Orlando, and performed adequately in league play.

The series will be close, but we’ll be looking to see a newly and strongly composed Prophecy take the series against Team KaLiBeR.

Denial eSports (2) vs. Team EnVyUs (7)

It’s only fitting to see these two teams face off against each other after completing one of the most prominent trades in CoD eSports History. Denial gained James “Clayster” Eubanks and Jordan “JKap” Kaplan, while EnVy gained Tommy “ZooMa” Paparratto and Renato “Saints” Forza. With their previous rosters, Denial placed third last event while EnVy placed a disappointing Top 12.

It’s hard to determine which team will perform better, being the team’s first event together, but we predict that Denial will take a close series against EnVy.

Overall Top 8 Predictions

  • 1st Place: OpTic Gaming

    • $30,000/25,000 PP’s

  • 2nd Place: Denial eSports

    • $15,000/15,000 PP’s

  • 3rd Place: Aware Gaming

    • $10,000/11,000 PP’s

  • 4th Place: Prophecy

    • $6,000/9,000 PP’s

  • 5th-6th Place: FaZe

    • $4,000/8,000 PP’s

  • 5th-6th Place: Team EnVyUs

    • $4,000/8,000 PP’s

  • 7th-8th Place: Team KaLiBeR

    • $3,000/7,000 PP’s

  • 7th-8th Place: Rise Nation

    • $3,000/7,000 PP's

OpTic Gaming has been dominating the competition lately and they are looking to take first place. The team is getting better and better everyday, with the amount of their slaying power and their respawn dominance. OpTic’s weakest gamemode is Search and Destroy and some teams may take advantage of it. If the squad is able to continue playing consistently and start off hot on day one, it only seems reasonable to predict that OpTic Gaming will be your MLG Pro League Season 1 Champions. Especially since OpTic Gaming won UMG Orlando, placed second at MLG Columbus, and continue winning the majority of MLG Pro Point tournaments.
