Many fans wanted to see a rematch between Luminosity Gaming and Splyce at the 2017 Call of Duty World League Championship—but not many thought it would happen in the losers bracket.

Both teams fought with their tournament lives on the line on Saturday, and Luminosity emerged victorious, taking the 3-0 series victory.

Josiah “Slacked” Berry, Sam “Octane” Larew, Nicholas “Classic” DiCostanzo, and Renato “Saints” Forza started the series with a strong 250-211 win on Breakout Hardpoint.

The two teams then traded rounds back and forth on Throwback Search and Destroy, despite Splyce's Dylan “MadCat” Daly getting off to a fantastic start—earning crucial scorestreaks for his team.

But a sneaky round 10 smoke defuse from Luminosity gave them the 6-4 victory over the Europeans.

Now with complete control of the series, Luminosity just demolished Splyce on Precinct Uplink, winning 15-3 to eliminate the Europeans from CoD Champs 2017.

Splyce was the last European team remaining in the tournament, but they will leave this $1.5 million event with a top eight placing.

Luminosity, who has been on a tear in the losers bracket, will now have a rematch against eUnited—who just lost to Team EnVyUs—to see which team will be eliminated from CoD Champs 2017.
