Call of Duty World League Qualifying Invitational: Event Preview

The Call of Duty World League “Pro Division” Qualifying Invitational for Call of Duty®: Black Ops III is being held this weekend and we have all the information you need to know about it right here.

The Electronic Sports League will be holding the Call of Duty World League “Pro Division” Qualifying Invitational for Call of Duty®: Black Ops III in California on Dec. 4-6. Multiple teams will be competing for their chance to qualify for the first season of the new Call of Duty World League at the start of 2016.

Location


The North American qualifier will be held at the ESL Studio in California, while the European qualifier will be held in Cologne, Germany and the Australian/New Zealand qualifier will be held in Australia.

The best teams from each region were invited to compete this weekend for their chance to qualify for a spot in the newly-formed Call of Duty World League. Check below for a full list of all the teams competing this weekend, as well as what group they are in and what the first-round matchups are.

Call of Duty also announced the basic format for group play in this qualifier. “These teams will compete in best-of-five series starting with the matchups listed above. From there, the top two teams from each group will advance to the Call of Duty World League.”

CWLFormat

Basically, in order to earn a spot in the Call of Duty World League, you need to win two matches before you lose two matches. As the image above shows, the first two teams in each group to win two matches will qualify for the World League.

Event Schedule


This qualifying tournament is scheduled to begin on Friday, Dec. 4 in North America, Saturday, Dec. 5 in Europe and Sunday, Dec. 6 in Austraila/New Zealand. Gameplay for all regions at this event will conclude on Dec. 6. All of the matches will be streamed live at the official Call of Duty eSports website.
