The organization has signed the Greek roster that left Ad Finem after placing second at the Boston Major in December.

“The Greeks” had an amazing run in Boston, playing their hearts out to against the likes of Dota 2 superteams Newbee and Digital Chaos, only to be beaten 3 to 1 in the final against OG. Shortly after being invited to the upcoming Kiev Major at the end of the month, April 27 to 30, the five players decided to not renew their contracts with Ad Finem.

At mousesports, the new Dota 2 division—which it’s adding almost two years after it’s last Dota 2 installment—consists of team captain and support Giorgios “SsaSpartan” Giannakopoulos, carry Omar “Madara” Dabachach, off laner Kharis “Skylark” Zafirou, mid laner Dimitros “ThuG” Plivouris, and roaming support Apostolos “Maybe Next Time” Verros. Taking care of the players off the field will be Mike “Madao” Chatzialexiou, while coach Ioannis “conman” Theodoridis and analyst Allen “Bonkers” Cook will prepare the team for competition.

The Greek players are stoked to join one of Germany’s most established esports orgs.

“The organization has made us feel at home from day one,” said team captain SsaSpartan. “I’m happy I get to share these moments and experiences with the rest of the team and we are ready for anything. It will be an honour to walk this path with an organization as storied as mousesports.”

Mousesports CEO, Cengiz Tüylü, said his decision to re-enter Dota 2 was easy.

Dota is one of the most exciting games in esports with a huge and very dedicated fanbase, amazing events, and the biggest prize pools,” Tüylü said. “We couldn’t wait to get back into the Dota community and I believe we found the perfect group to take this step. Our roster is bursting with team spirit and passion for the game and their first week has exceeded all our expectations.”

The team is bootcamping in Germany for the past week and looks to live up to its earlier success at the upcoming Major in Kiev.
