Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho, the 2017 Summer Split All-LCS top laner formerly of Dignitas, is wrapping up negotiations to join 100 Thieves for the 2018 season, according to a report from ESPN.
100 Thieves, the esports brand started by former Call of Duty pro Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag and backed by Dan Gilbert of the Cleveland Cavaliers, has been relatively silent over the past couple of days in regards to signing players for their new roster. The only other player said to have joined the squad so far is former Phoenix1 and KT Rolster Bullets mid laner Yoo “Ryu” Sang-wook.
Ryu was once considered to be one of the best mid laners in the world, and although he’s fallen quite a bit in recent years, combining his solo lane expertise with Ssumday, one of the region’s best players, could produce some impressive results.
Ssumday was heralded as the most significant reason Dignitas was able to find success during the Summer Split when they finished the playoffs in fourth place.
100 Thieves haven’t signed nearly as many players as Team Liquid, who have reportedly finished their starting lineup already, but they’re off to a good start.
