Timewalking in World of Warcraft is a weekly event during which you can run dungeons and raids from previous expansions, obtain Timewarped Badges, and gear up to the current standards.
In total, there are six expansions that can currently be played on Timewalking: The Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm, Mists of Pandaria, Warlords of Draenor, and Legion. Additionally, you can also get Timewalking Badges during WoW’s anniversary—and wouldn’t you know it, WoW’s 19th anniversary is happening from Nov. 16 to Dec. 7.
The main currency used during the game’s Timewalking events is Timewarped Badges. Normally, Timewarped Badges are used to buy transmogs, mounts, and toys that are relevant to whichever Timewalking expansion is currently in rotation. For example, you can get WoD-themed mounts and toys with Timewarped Badges at a designated vendor on Draenor during Warlords of Draenor Timewalking.
During WoW’s Timewalking events, you can earn plenty of Timewarped Badges by completing dungeons, taking down Timewalking raid bosses, and completing a weekly quest. You can also get them by doing WoW anniversary quests.
Since Timewarped Badges play such a critical role in obtaining expansion-themed cosmetics and other collectibles, it’s essential to understand how to earn Timewarped Badges and where you can spend them.
How can I get Timewarped Badges in WoW Dragonflight?
As we’ve already mentioned, Timewarped Badges are the main currency used whenever a Timewalking event occurs. Normally, you can exchange them for mounts, toys, and other cosmetics at Timewalking vendors in capital cities. There’s more than one way to earn Timewarped Badges, though. Here’s a list of all possible ways to earn them.
- Killing a boss in a Timewalking dungeon: Five Timewarped Badges
- Killing the end boss of a Timewalking dungeon: 10 Timewarped Badges
- Completing a random Timewalking dungeon: 10 Timewarped Badges
- Completing a Timewalking dungeon while your role is up for Call to Arms: 50 Timewarped Badges
- Completing expansion-themed quests like The Swirling Vial, The Shrouded Coin, The Shimmering Crystal, The Smoldering Ember, or The Unstable Prism: 500 Timewarped Badges
- Completing WoW’s Anniversary quests such as The Originals, A Time to Reflect, Doomwalkin’ Has Come Knckin’, and Soldier of Time: 500 Timewarped Badges
- Completing Raid quests like Disturbance Detected: Black Temple: 500 Timewarped Badges
WoW’s 19th Anniversary Event in WoW Dragonflight
If you log in during WoW’s 19th Anniversary event, check your mailbox for a gift from Blizzard Entertainment. In addition to some cosmetics and a pet, you’ll also find 200 Timewarped Badges, but that’s just the appetizer.
You’ll also get a quest to visit Chromie in the Caverns of Time. Go to your Capital and take a portal there (or walk there, if you want, the weather is probably lovely). You may see a giant Doomwarden in front of the entrance to the Caverns of Time and there will probably be a few players fighting him. You can join in now, but you’ll have to kill him again after accepting a quest from Chromie.
Go down into the caverns (take the flight path at the entrance) and find the cute dragon-in-disguise by her two guards. You’ll get a bunch of quests from Chromie, each one awarding you with, at least, 200 Timewarped Badges. One of these also includes killing the Doomwarden at the entrance which also gives you a cool mount.
Timewalking vendors will have rotating wares depending on the Timewalking expansion. So if you’re chasing for a specific mount or a toy, be sure to pick it up before that specific Timewalking event comes to a close.
