Rogue has been creeping up in power levels in Hearthstone since the last balance patch and many variants of Aggro Rogue and Elemental Rogue are being used in high Legend ranks. Asmodai hit Rank 1 Legend with his Aggro Rogue brew and many players like MrYagut and Casie have hit high Legend with tweaks to the deck.
Card Choices
Backstab: Backstab is a cheap and efficient early game removal that works very well against aggressive decks. You definitely want to keep it in your hand against aggressive decks as it potentially allows you to clean up early game boards and take control of the board by playing your minions without investing any mana.
Shadowstep: We have plenty of high value Shadowstep targets and each of these targets serves a unique purpose. Getting it off in your early turns with Prince Keleseth can be devastating while using it on Leeroy can allow you to get a ton of burst damage.
Cold Blood: Cold Blood is a great card to use with your Charge minions for burst damage or simply be used on one of your smaller minions to take out much bigger minions with efficient use of mana.
Hallucination: While Hallucination in a vacuum isn’t really an aggressive card, it allows you to enable combos and find powerful cards from your opponent’s class that can help you get access to powerful cards that are not otherwise in your deck.
Swashburglar: Swashburglar allows you to draw outside your deck and also has some Pirate synergy involved in the deck. Being able to draw cards that your opponent isn’t prepared to deal with gives you an extra edge.
Edwin Vancleef: Edwin VanCleef has the potential to win games on his own in some matches if you manage to make a big Edwin very early in the game. It is a solid minion overall and you get decent value out of the card with plenty of 1 and 0 cost cards in your deck.
shaku-the-collector: Shaku is a very high value early game minion that allows you to draw cards from your opponent’s class.  If left unchecked you can get massive value out of the minion.
SI7-Agent: SI7 is a very powerful board control tool that develops a 3 mana 3/3 that deals 2 damage if you manage to combo it which is quite easy since you have access to so many 0 and 1 mana cards.
xaril-poisoned-mind: Xaril is a decent 4 drop that gives you access to two 1 mana cards which have a lot of utility and can enable combos. While the card is not a must have and can be replaced by a second Tar Creeper if you do not have him in your collection, it is quite solid and is worth an inclusion in a lot of Rogue decks.
Shadowcaster: Shadowcaster gets a lot of value in this deck and has plenty of good targets to get value out of. Being able to get another copy of Bonemare or Prince Keleseth can be game changing or even small targets like Swashburglar can bring a lot of value to the table.
Vilespine Slayer: Vilespine Slayer is one of the best hard removals in the game right now and being able to wipe out pretty much anything at all for 5 mana and also develop a 3/4 in the process.
Fire Fly: A decent 1 drop that makes up for the lack of 2 drops in the deck and allows draws you another 1/2 from its Battlecry which can be used for early game board presence.
Patches the Pirate: Patches draws itself out of the deck if you play any Pirate and pulling it out after buffing your deck with Prince Keleseth can be very powerful and allow you to make value trades.
Southsea Deckhand: Southsea Deckhand is quite good in Rogue decks because you do not need to slot in standalone weapons in the deck to get its Charge effect off and you can simply use your hero power to get value out of the card.
Prince Keleseth: Prince Keleseth is quite powerful in Rogue as you pretty much need to lose out on only Eviscerate among 2 mana cards with Sap not being popular in the meta game (and Vilespine being the removal of choice). Being able to play Prince Keleseth multiple times with Shadowstep and Shadowcaster, you can get insane value off of the card.
Southsea Captain: With a decent amount of Pirates in the deck, Southsea Captain can allow you to buff up your board and make it more resilient to board clears and trades.
Tar Creeper: Tar Creeper is a very powerful 3 drop that deals with aggressive decks quite well due to the large health pool that can block a lot of incoming damage and also take out multiple small minions.
Spellbreaker: Spellbreaker is a solid tech card at the moment that allows you to bypass taunts and shut down various effects of minions.
Leeroy Jenkins: Leeroy is a great finisher and in sticky situations it can also serve as removal to take out big minions. Shadowstep and Cold Blood can greatly increase the burst damage potential with the card and close out games when your opponents expect it the least.
Bonemare: Bonemare is a very good value minion that adds 9/9 stats and partial taunt to the board for just 7 mana. You have plenty of cheap minions to get value out of the card and it is one of the strongest Commons in the KFT set.

Conclusion
Aggro Rogue is in a very good spot right now and it is one of the few good counter decks to Highlander Priest at the moment. This particular variant of the deck is by Mr. Yagut who has been hovering in Top 10 Legend recently with the deck. Hope you guys enjoy this brand new deck and let us know how it works out for you in the comments below.
