In what pundits and fans consider the best game of the event so far, the defending North American champions were able to stage one of the most incredible comebacks in their match against EHOME. The Chinese wild card team quickly set the tempo of the game and established a sizeable 7500 gold lead at 18 minutes. Evil Geniuses would, in fact, never acquire a gold lead throughout the 75 minute blockbuster, but through strategic pickoffs and absurd team fights Peter “ppd” Dager managed to stave off their Chinese adversaries at seemingly every turn, with a few exceptions.

In the end, despite Evil Geniuses’ best efforts, EHOME’s farmed cores and cataclysmic team fighting capabilities let the Chinese team push their advantage more regularly than their opponents. After knocking down all of Evil Geniuses’ barracks, it looked all but certain that the game was over for the North Americans.

But in the blink of an eye, a successful base defense from Evil Geniuses culminated in the unthinkable. With Boots of Travel and four Dagons, the defending champions made a mad dash down the midlane straight towards EHOME’s base, leaving their own exposed for the torrent of mega creeps running charging towards their ancient. Saahil “UNiVeRsE” Arora’s world-class Faceless Void separateds the Chinese team, killing off Zhang “LaNm” Zhicheng and forcing Wang “old chicken” Zhiyong’s Juggernaut back into the Dire fountain. The remainder of Evil Geniuses drew the fight away from their opponent’s base and kited Daryl “iceiceice” Koh’s Timbersaw to perfection, finishing him off with their newly purchased Dagons.

In a final mad dash, old chicken teleported to Evil Geniuses’ base in an attempt of destroying their Ancient. The gambit proved unsuccessful and with next to nothing left to defend their base, the North Americans staged one of the most incredible comebacks of the tournament.

The second and final game of the series had no chance of living up to the spectacle of the opener, and at 38 minutes Evil Geniuses erased all doubt surrounding them, securing their spot in the upper bracket finals against Wings Gaming on Friday.
