Towards the beginning of the Spring Split, Team 8 announced a roster move that was extremely unlikely; they would be bringing former all-star Gambit Gaming/Moscow 5 mid laner, Alex “Alex Ich” Ichetovkin to North America. However, his position would only be as a substitute for the team. Shortly thereafter, a new Challenger team, who were to participate in the Challenger Series qualifiers, Team Brawl would also announce their intention to have Ich as their starting mid laner.
Unfortunately, Team Brawl failed to qualify for the Challenger Series, losing first round to Team Darkness. After, it was unsure what the mid laner would do. Since, he’s subbed for multiple teams, including Escalate Legion Gaming in a third-party tournament, but recently, theScore reported that he would be joining a new team, alongside Oleksii “RF Legendary” Kuziuta, Alberto “Crumbzz” Rengifo, Ritchie “Intense” Ngo, & Maria “Yuno” Creveling. This won’t be the only time we see a mix of these players together.
Sources tell GoldPer10 that Alex Ich, RF Legendary, & Yuno are set to substitute for current NA Challenger Series team, Team Dragon Knights. The duration of this move is unknown; however, they will be joining current TDK AD Carry Lee “LouisxGeeGee” Sung-jin & jungler Kevin “Kez” Jeon. The reason for this substitution and the situation of the organization’s main roster’s players, Seraph, Kyle, & Smoothie is unknown.
Yuno was previously the support player for Team Roar. Roar is best known for their AD Carry, Shan “Chaox” Huang, who was formerly of Team SoloMid, as well as their interactions with MeetYourMakers mid laner, Marcin “Kori” Wolski. During her time at Roar, they, much like Ich’s former team BrawL, failed to qualify for the Challenger Series. RF Legendary, however, on the other hand is quite well known amongst the community due to the popularity of his stream. He has played across many competitive teams in the past, but has no notable achievements from his time in competitive play.
When contacted, Team Dragon Knights management confirmed that the three players would in fact be subbing for the team, but declined to comment any further. GoldPer10 will keep you up-to-date with any updates to the story as it occurs.
