OpTic to retain RUSH and mixwell on its CS:GO roster

It appears that OpTic Gaming will be retaining the majority of its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster.

Following a week of wild speculation about whether or not Oscar “mixwell” Cañellas and Will “RUSH” Wierzba would be remaining on OpTic, it now appears that both players have elected to stay, according to the organization’s CEO Hector “HECZ” Rodriguez.

Looking incredibly relieved, Rodriguez talks about how he pleaded with both players to stay on the team, despite the recent departure of former in-game leader Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz on Feb. 3. Heralded as the best leader in North America, OpTic’s recent performances without stanislaw have shown a steep decline in the team’s form, as they failed to make it out of the group stage at both DreamHack Masters Las Vegas and IEM Katowice.

On March 13, it was reported by Slingshot Esports that Team Liquid had made offers to both RUSH and mixwell in an attempt to have the players join its CS:GO roster. The players were, according to the report, not certain if they wished to leave OpTic, and it now seems as if Team Liquid will have to make do without their services.

In the event that both RUSH and mixwell were to join Team Liquid, it would have seen both Joshua “jdm64” Marzano and Jacob “pimp” Winneche removed from the team’s roster, according to the report by Slingshot Esports.

What’s next for OpTic in terms of CS:GO remains to be seen, as the team still hasn’t found a permanent replacement for stanislaw.
